2004 SURVEY
The British Columbia Baby-Friendly Network (BCBFN) disseminated a survey to 63 hospitals with maternity units and 57 community health agencies in BC in the fall of 2004. The main purpose was to identify their progress with the Baby-Friendly Initiative (BFI). This report summarizes progress with the BFI in 14 hospitals and 18 community health agencies in BC. The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative is a global initiative. The information in the second edition of The BC Baby-Friendly Resource Binder provides information for Canadians working to support breastfeeding.
